Yes, I’m talking about the tagline of the newest HBO serial “Game of Thrones” which is made based on George R. R. Martin’s book : A Game of Thrones. The first series of the book was published in 1996 and the first episode of the movie was premiered on April, 2011.

I haven’t watch all the series coz I’ve only downloaded the first HD episode from torrent yesterday. The introduction of the characters went well, we can guess who were the bad guy or who were a kick ass princess, but err who knows what will happen in the next episode? Because I myself was kinda shocked with the end of the first episode. Krrrh, quite a cliffhanger and i didn’t have the rest of the series.

Like what’s written in its tagline, “When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die.” In Game of Thrones you will see how man against man, betrayal, murder because of power. Ain’t no different than the world we live eh?

I think I’m gonna go to Sakura right after posting this post :p Ah and by the way this series get 9.5 stars in imdb.com. And have you readers watched GoT too? Share with me then

Holla readers, miss me?

Been weeks since my last update and let’s talk about something nice and easy to share. Movie! I watched Water for Elephant last night and it was great.

Jacob and Marlena

Here’s the sinopsis i copied from imdb.com : “When Jacob Jankowski, recently orphaned and suddenly adrift, jumps onto a passing train, he enters a world of freaks, drifters, and misfits, a second-rate circus struggling to survive during the Great Depression, making one-night stands in town after endless town. A veterinary student who almost earned his degree, Jacob is put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It is there that he meets Marlena, the beautiful young star of the equestrian act, who is married to August, the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. He also meets Rosie, an elephant who seems untrainable until he discovers a way to reach her. Water for Elephants is illuminated by a wonderful sense of time and place. It tells a story of a love between two people that overcomes incredible odds in a world in which even love is a luxury that few can afford.”

Well not as great as the book but all the casts were perfect. Except one, the main actor. Yes, I’m talking about Rob Pattinson the one and only Edward Cullen. Maybe when he got selected as so-cool-sexy-hawt-vampire he didn’t have to show a complicated emotional character, what do we expect? He’s a vampire, but in Water for Elephant he supposed to show us who Jacob Jankoski is. A depressed vetenarian, a dedicated lover, a person with great personality which I didn’t see it in the movie. Sad but true, i don’t see any other actor who has a perfect appearance as a young Jacob beside Rob himself.

I like Reese Witherspoon, her role as Malena was nice and charming, you will fall in love with her as soon as you saw her on stage with the horses. Trully an America’s sweetheart. When i read the book, my thought about Malena was fresh, young, blonde hair and had a melancolic face. And Reese was more mature and such a lady, but still i like her.

My fave was The-most-scary-psychotic Christoph Waltz! I fell in love with him since his role in Inglourios Bastard. As an owner of Benzini Circus, a possesive husband, a sadistic and tempramental man, Christoph Waltz played beautifully.

I loved the movie and I recommend it to all who haven’t read the book, if you already read i guarantee you’ll love the book more than the movie. Yes, always like that. 7,5 star from 10.

PS : me likey Rosie the elephant, but won’t have her as a pet in my house, I guess. huehue :p

How’s your long weekend? I’ve spent all of my holiday in bed and my lovely room because of this unbelievable Salmonella bacteria! Argh, but hey the great news I’ve finished one book and watched some DVD’s (a sad Korean movies which I didn’t get it and Blue Valentine). Oh I love Blue Valentine, kinda similar with Before Sunset movie, love story with all the ups and downs relationship plus the acting was real and turned out good beyond my expectation. Ryan Gosling? Hello people, happy Sunday! How’s your day so far? We still have few hours before Monday, yiay. For me Sunday is such a blessing, hang out all day or just spending my precious time by watching my favourite drama series. Grey’s Anatomy, which is the longest drama series I’ve watched so far.

Grey’s Anatomy is a melancholic-medical-drama series directed by Shonda Rhimes. Who is a really really drama queen! Complicated love life, miserable characters yet lovable in the same time, great soundtracks! How can I not be in love with this series. Uw, last but not least yummy doctors are all around.

Well,  hello! Wow, it’s been a while since my last post. I’ll try to make a quick update about my life, in case you were wondering what the hell i was doing in the past few weeks.

-  I made a blog about books that I’ve read and who said blogging is not about commitment? Argh, Iwill try to be fair enough with my two blogs:)

- Did I say two blogs? Err, I made another blog which is dedicated for my personal branding. About teeth, children, etc.

- My Poppy flower project finally done! Gonna post my stitch here just right after I get it framed.

Talking about cross stitching, i bought a cross stich magazine yesterday. And i’m totally hooked with another poppy pattern. Yes, poppy flower again, don’t know exactly why i love poppies.

This pattern was designed by Sheila Hudson. What i love about this pattern, it’s not just about how rich the colours are but the shading, the curves, tsk lovely! Unfortunately the price is also lovely. *sigh*

Well I guess that’s it for now, I’ll post another blog later, still about cross stitching. Gonna share about Jean Baggot who stitched her life in one big tapestry. Amazing, isn’t it? Stay tune, be right back.

Beberapa quote hasil browsing google. Kenapa teman? Karena hari Minggu ceria ini saya hendak curhat soal teman. Betapa anehnya teman yang bejibun satu per satu menghilang, not literally menghilang, tapi ‘hilang’. Badai waktu dan ombak pertengkaran akan melibas yang sekedar teman dan menghasilkan teman sejati. Ah, terlalu puitis kalimat saya barusan, entah malaikat dari mana yang merasuki tapi bisa jadi itu curahan hati yang paling dalam. Teman sejati sulit dicari.

Setahun yang lalu, akibat balas membalas komen di fb hubungan saya dengan seorang teman menjauh. Terkesan tidak masuk akal tapi itulah yang terjadi. Perlahan namun pasti ia menghilang. Saya berusaha menganggapnya sepele, toh ntar bakalan baik lagi. Usia pertemanan kami yang lebih dari 6 tahun masa kacau gara-gara hal sepele. Sepele berbuntut panjang, kami mulai tak berkabar, pertemuan bisa dihitung dengan jari sampai akhirnya sekedar mencari tahu kabar dan bertukar gosip juga kami tidak pernah.

Dua hari lalu ada kejadian yang semakin membuat saya tersadar, apakah itu tandanya ia hendak menghentikan pertemanan dengan saya? Hanya dia dan yang di atas yang tahu. Ah, kenapa bawa-bawa nama Tuhan di sini? Tapi what can I say, saya tidak tahu apa yang terlintas di kepalanya saat ia mampir ke rumah hanya membawakan titipan teman dan langsung pergi. Entahlah, saya tidak tahu.

Browsing poster film King’s Speech saya malah menemukan poster Beastly yang bakal tayang tahun ini. Beastly sendiri diangkat dari novel Alex Flinn dengan judul yang sama, inti cerita mirip-mirip dengan Beauty and the Beast. Sepertinya sih bakal jadi film yang menghebohkan terutama untuk para ABG. Tokoh utamanya itu loh, yummeh.

Alex Pettyfer yang juga jadi pemeran utama film I am number four plus digadang-gadang berperan sebagai Jacey di seri Mortal Instruments yang juga dari buku. Weks. Ini beberapa fotonya yang saya suka.

Ah, akhir pekan ini saya puas melahap DVD. Mulai dari Black Swan, Unstoppable, The mechanic, Shaolin (setengahnya ketiduran), RED (disambi bbman) dan The King’s Speech. Semuanya ada plus minusnya masing-masing, di Mechanic mata saya dipuaskan dengan Jason Statham, Unstoppable dengan ketegangan kereta api yang meluncur di tengah kota, Black Swan sepertinya tidak usah disebutkan lagi.

Kali ini saya ingin membahas The King’s Speech. Film pemenang Oscar 2011 bisa ditonton tanpa kening berkerut malahan saya sangat menikmatinya.

King’s Speech berkisah tentang perjuangan King George VI yang gagap. Dan di balik raja besar ternyata ada seorang terapis nyentrik dan ratu bijaksana yang penyayang. Terpapar jelas dalam taglinenya “When God couldn’t save the King, the Queen turned to someone who could”.

Dialog berjalan cerdas dan beberapa kali pula saya malah tertawa geli. Contohnya adegan di bawah ini :

King George VI: All that work down the drain. My own brother, I couldn’t say a single word to him in reply.
Lionel Logue: Why do you stammer so much more with David than you ever do with me?
King George VI: ‘Cos you’re b… bloody well paid to listen.
Lionel Logue: Bertie, I’m not a geisha girl.

Banyak adegan mengharukan yang sempat membuat mata saya berkaca-kaca dan di akhir film saat King George harus pidato di khalayak ramai saya ikut deg-degan. Haduh please, please, make him do it well.

Mustinya Geoffrey Rush juga diganjar Oscar nih, saya sih lebih suka beliau, karakternya ajaib dan loveable di saat yang bersamaan.
